New Year; New Resolutions

The ushering in of a new year always brings with it the expectations of new resolutions but for me they are the old ones that I have been recycling year in and year out. Things like: Eat healthy and Exercise more, or keep the house tidy, which I have never been able to get passed the first week in January without one of them falling by the wayside. This year I decided that it would be different - yes I really should eat better and exercise more - but January is not a good month to be starting on a mission like that. We still have Christmas treats left over and there is no way I will be able to sit and watch my family finish off the Quality Streets without me. So my first BIG decision is to start an online journal and VOILA! after some clicking of buttons and agreeing to terms and conditions - here it is. I have kept a journal for many years now and I certainly won't stop my personal handwritten one but this online version will be an opportunity for me to re-focus on the important things in life; things that bring joy and pleasure, things that I am proud of and passionate about and hopefully to share it with other like-minded people around the world.
This year I hope that my cycle of disappointment regarding New Year's Resolutions is broken and that in its place is a new system of achievable goals and aims that I can work on all year round, so that by next year I can look back and marvel at what I have achieved instead of looking back and berating myself for not exercising or keeping the house tip top tidy.

Next time: my list of goals for 2011.....
